I have an 11 year old dog with bad arthritis in her back leg and sometimes she can’t put it down. I have taken her to the vet and he has confirmed arthritis and prescribed anti-inflamatries, however can I give her glucosomine or cod liver oil as an extra suppliment to lubricate her joints?

Our Chow/Retriever has Arthristis and we must help him to go outside to potty. The Vet just gives us pills to help. It seems to help, but he can’t talk and tell us. He is 11 years old. How long can a dog last without suffering and how will we really know? We love him so much, but would never want him in pain.
