Plenty. First, take her to her vet for x-rays so the vet can determine how bad it is. The vet can then tell you if your dog can be kept pain-free with glucosamine chondroitin with MSM (which isn’t prescription) and the correct dosage. If the arthritis is too bad for that, the vet will prescribe meds to keep your lab pain-free. Please don’t wait – there’s lots of help for your dog.

I wouldn’t recommend that you give Any animal ANY over the counter drugs without first talking to a vet. It could kill your dog.

I have a 9 year old Rottweiler (named Belle) who is having some trouble with arthritis. She is becoming more stiff as the nights get colder, I’m doing what I can for her. I let her sleep on my bed, and on the couch when she’s in the living room. I am also giving her Bayer Asprin (I asked my vet about the appropriate dose), but she is still limping a bit through out the day. Is there anything else I can do the ease her arhritis pain without having to put her on a perscription medication?

She went to the vet 2 days ago because she kept falling down
on her back legs and they prescribed anti-inflammatory medicine but she is throwing up her medicine and hasn’t eaten for 4 days. The whites off her eyes are red. She is drinking water but will not tolerate food. We are going to
the vet again in the morning but I feel she will not make it
from here and feel the most humane thing to do is have her
put to sleep, the kids think she will make a recovery.
She is 12 and is a blue heeler cattle dog.
is there any hope?
