My dog (chiguagua) was perfectly fine on saturday night when i got home(1130pm) and on sunday morning he didnt get up with me like usual. after a while i noticed he couldnt walk…and thorughtout the day he had symtoms of a siezure. (stiff back legs, one front paw lifted, dis-oriented, staring into space and would scream if you touched him at times) toke him to the vet and said he had signs of arthrits. but im not doubting the vet opinion but how could my dog go from playful and happy to miserable and doesnt even wanna get outta bed overnight? (7 hours) its been four days and no change…im confused.

This seems (to me) more severe than arthritis. I would check the vet if the dog’s behavior continues. :)
    Hope he feels better!

arhtritis can’t happen overnight because its the wearing away of the stuff that keeps your bones from touchoing eachother overtime. besides arthristis symptoms don’t include seizures and disorientation. though he may have it and you have just started to notice that he has arthritis he probably has multiple things going on with him. i’d get a second opoinion. poor dog these things happen with age.

It sounds more like a strain like a pulled muscle. Ask your vet for pain medication. There is no reason your dog needs to be uncomfortable like that.modern medicine and all!

    Hi
Get a second opinion. Doesn’t sound like arthritis from your description.
    Best of luck,

I know this sounds crazy. But i rescued a chihuahua when he was about 5 years old. He was our only dog and right around age 7 he wasn’t able to walk or go upstairs anymore. He even had seizures often. We thought he was dying. So soon after we got another dog and then added a third dog to the mix. I think my dog was lonely and depressed from being alone all day. Since we have had both the other dogs my chihuahua has had NO health issues and is now a ripe old age of 17. Hope this helps, he might just need a friend. I went thru the exact same thing as u.
